Job summary

Watercare Services Limited is seeking an analytical professional to help build and sustain Watercare's 30-year capital investment model and portfolio tools. Reporting to the Capital Portfolio Manager, you will coordinate inputs, analyse scenarios and support investment decisions across the business.

You will work with Finance, Strategy & Planning, Programme Delivery and Operations to provide insights on cost, schedule and risk, enabling informed prioritisation of Auckland's infrastructure

Qualifications

• Analytical thinking and problem solving in capital/infrastructure contexts.
• Experience analysing complex financial and schedule data.
• Ability to translate data into clear business insights.
• Strong communication with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of Watercare's 30-year capital investment model and portfolio tools.

Reporting to the Capital Portfolio Manager, you'll play a key role in coordinating and maintaining the analytical foundation of Watercare's Investment and Delivery Plan. You'll lead the development of long-term portfolio modelling, bringing together financial, schedule, risk and performance data to support investment decisions across the business.

Working closely with teams across Finance, Strategy & Planning, Programme Delivery and Operations, you'll provide the insights and evidence needed to prioritise projects, assess investment scenarios and support Auckland's future infrastructure needs.

What You'll Be Doing

• Building towards leading the development and ongoing improvement of Watercare’s 30-year capital investment model and associated portfolio modelling tools
• Coordinating investment planning inputs, assumptions and portfolio data.
• Analysing investment scenarios, affordability impacts, risks and delivery constraints.
• Providing portfolio-level insights across cost, schedule and performance.
• Supporting executive, governance and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Driving improvements in modelling, reporting and data quality processes.

You'll be a highly analytical professional with experience working in complex capital, infrastructure, finance or portfolio environments.

You'll Bring

• A tertiary qualification in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
• Experience in portfolio analysis, financial analysis or project controls.
• Strong modelling and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear business insights.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• A passion for improving processes and supporting better decision-making through data.
