Job summary

Tourism Holdings Limited (thl) Christchurch is seeking a Mechanic Team Leader to lead a frontline workshop team in vehicle service, maintenance and repair. You will inspire your team to exceed customer expectations and achieve quality, productivity, and strategic targets.

The role requires a trade qualification in automotive engineering (NZ Level 4), a full NZ driver’s licence, and 5–7 years’ industry experience with prior leadership in a busy workshop.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Light or Heavy Automotive Engineering (NZ Level 4 or equivalent).
• Full New Zealand drivers licence.
• 5–7 years’ automotive industry experience (preferred).
• Previous team leader or supervisor experience in a busy workshop.
• Strong knowledge of automotive mechanics and diagnostic systems.
• Experience with workshop scheduling tools (e.g., EAM).
• Proven ability to train, mentor, and develop staff.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety.

• Oversee daily workshop operations, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality repairs.
• Make key repair/replacement decisions based on inspections.
