Job summary

SeaLink is seeking an experienced Lead Storemen / Fork Hoist Operator to support daily operations across Waiheke and Great Barrier Island. You will oversee inbound/outbound freight, ensure accurate documentation, and secure loads for timely sailing schedules.

The role runs Monday to Friday with start times around 5–6am and 3–4pm finishes, with occasional Saturdays. Benefits include travel on vessels, birthday leave, health insurance add-on, and wellness programs.

Qualifications

Experience handling, loading and unloading freight
Experience with dangerous goods documentation and compliance
Clear understanding of freight loading, strapping and safety procedures
Demonstrated ability to interpret freight documentation and load plans
Linehaul night loading or logistics experience advantageous

Responsibilities

Support day-to-day warehouse and yard operations
Ensure freight is sorted, receipted, labelled, scanned and allocated to manifests & destination
Load and unload trucks and trailers safely and efficiently
Verify documentation, consignment notes and scanning; ensure Dangerous Goods compliance
Ensure loads are secured, compliant and within legal weight limits
Monitor and maintain safe traffic flow and site conditions
Check and store chilled and frozen goods promptly and correctly
Maintain a clean, hazard-free site; provide coaching and direction to teammates
Deliver high standard of customer service to internal and external stakeholders
