Dawn Aerospace seeks a Senior Flight Safety Engineer– Spaceplane to own and shape flight safety analyses for a novel remotely operated spaceplane. You will define methodology, model trajectories and debris, and validate results while system design matures.

Expect leadership in FHA/FTA and coordination with regulators on certification strategies. You will also lead safety assessments across aircraft systems, develop safety requirements, and contribute to reliability analyses.

Competenze

• Flight safety analysis for launch or re-entry under Part 450 (or Parts 417/431).
• Quantitative risk, trajectory, or debris modelling and verification of analysis software/methods.
• Functional Hazard Assessment, Hazard Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, or Common Cause Analysis.
• Systems engineering for complex aerospace or safety-critical systems.
• Aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle or advanced unmanned aircraft development.
• Experience with RCC319 flight termination system requirements.
• Design, build, or qualification of flight termination systems.

Mansioni

• Own the Part 450 Flight Safety Analysis and translate safety targets into quantitative criteria.
• End-to-end implementation of the flight safety analysis methodology, including trajectory and debris modelling.
• Lead development of the flight safety analysis tool and ensure software qualification.
• Assess vehicle design to derive probabilities of failure and run analysis for each mission profile.
• Prepare analysis content for the Part 102 certification and support regulator engagement.
• Perform system safety assessments per ED-279/ED-280 and industry practices.
• Contribute to Functional Hazard Assessments and develop system safety requirements.
• Perform or contribute to Fault Tree, Common Cause and reliability analyses.
• Specify flight abort behaviour and requirements for abort rules and response times.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on abort system design and qualification.
• Communicate findings and influence technical direction through sound judgment.
