Job summary

Dawn Aerospace is seeking an experienced engineer to own the flight safety analysis for a remotely operated spaceplane. You will shape the safety methodology, build and validate models, and run analyses for every mission profile as the design evolves.

Lead the system safety efforts, including FHA/FTA, to ensure architecture and failure rates meet safety targets. You will translate targets into quantitative safety criteria, drive end-to-end modelling, and supervise development of the analytical

Qualifications

• Experience in flight safety analyses for launch or range safety work.
• Ability to translate safety targets into quantitative criteria and manage end-to-end analyses.
• Experience with validation/verification of safety models and software.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end flight safety analysis methodology.
• Lead safety analyses including trajectory modelling, malfunction modelling, failure probability, debris and exposure modelling.
• Develop and verify the flight safety tool; support regulator engagement during certification.
• Assess vehicle design to derive probabilities of failure and assign mitigations.
• Define and specify flight abort behaviour and qualification requirements.
