Job summary

WM New Zealand is seeking an experienced Compactor & Bin Workshop Manager to lead the East Tamaki workshop. You will oversee maintenance, repair, refurbishment and fabrication of compactors and bins, ensuring safety, compliance and strong customer outcomes.

Reporting to the Head of Maintenance, you will drive planning, efficiency and asset availability while coaching supervisors and building technical depth for the future.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or electrical engineering experience with hydraulic systems.
• Experience in repairs, maintenance, workshop leadership and asset management.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance, workflow management and productivity.
• Experience leading people and managing performance.
• Commercial acumen including budgets, costs and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Compactor and Bin Workshop teams to deliver safe, efficient maintenance and refurbishment.
• Manage preventative maintenance, inspection, repair and rebuild programs for equipment.
• Provide technical leadership across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and fabrication issues.
• Build relationships with Operations, Sales, Customer Service, Finance and suppliers.
• Drive planning, workflow and productivity improvements to reduce downtime.
• Coach and develop supervisors and staff while maintaining safety-first culture.
