Wellington City Council seeks a Team Leader Compliance & Audit to lead a high-performing team responsible for building compliance, WOFs, pool safety, audits and regulatory assurance across the city.

You will guide regulatory services, support BCA accreditation, mentor staff, and strengthen industry relationships while shaping best-practice regulatory processes for resilient city-building.

Qualifikationen

• A qualification that meets Regulation 18 minimum requirements.
• Significant experience in NZ building/compliance/regulatory environment.
• Strong knowledge of Building Act 2004, Building Code, and related legislation.
• Proven leadership experience and ability to develop high-performing teams.
• Ability to navigate complex compliance issues and difficult conversations.
• Excellent relationship-building, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Customer-focused approach with sound regulatory judgement.

• Lead a team of compliance professionals, providing technical guidance, coaching and support.
• Oversee delivery of regulatory services across Wellington and support BCA accreditation/audit readiness.
• Tackle complex compliance matters and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor staff, collaborate with industry stakeholders, and contribute to city-wide resilience planning.
