Job summary

Blenheim Yum Yum Kebab and Smoothies in Blenheim is seeking an experienced Outlet Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, lead the team, ensure high service standards and maintain safety and quality. You will drive profitability through effective stock control, scheduling and customer focus.

You will plan rosters, monitor sales, coach staff, manage stock and supplier relationships, and implement promotions to grow the outlet's performance while maintaining compliance with health and safety

Qualifications

• At least two years in retail, hospitality or outlet management.
• NZQF Level 4 qualification or higher in related field.
• Either qualification or work experience is required.
• Ability to independently manage retail/hospitality operations.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of costs and profitability.
• Proven leadership, planning and organisational skills.
• Capability to supervise staff with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for day-to-day operation and commercial performance of the outlet.
• Plan and manage staffing requirements, rosters, shift allocation and workforce utilisation.
• Lead and manage staff performance, including training and development.
• Monitor sales, revenue, cash handling, operating costs and outlet performance to improve profitability.
• Manage stock levels, purchasing, inventory control and wastage, including supplier coordination.
• Review customer demand, sales patterns and operational performance for decisions.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and resolve issues appropriately.
• Ensure food quality, hygiene, safety and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate ordering, receiving and stock management for product availability.
• Maintain financial records and provide performance information and recommendations.
• Implement promotions to increase sales and outlet performance.
• Identify operational issues and implement efficiency improvements.

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Outlet Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our outlet. The successful applicant will manage staff, coordinate daily service, maintain customer service and operational standards, monitor stock and sales, and ensure the outlet operates efficiently and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation and commercial performance of the outlet.
• Plan and manage staffing requirements, rosters, shift allocation and workforce utilisation to meet business needs.
• Lead and manage staff performance, including training, development, performance expectations and workplace standards.
• Monitor sales, revenue, cash handling, operating costs and outlet performance, and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
• Manage stock levels, purchasing requirements, inventory control and wastage, including coordination with suppliers.
• Review customer demand, sales patterns and operational performance to support business and product decisions.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and resolve customer issues appropriately.
• Ensure food quality, presentation, hygiene, health and safety, and regulatory requirements are consistently maintained.
• Coordinate ordering, receiving and stock management to ensure appropriate product availability.
• Maintain and review operational and financial records and provide performance information and recommendations to management.
• Implement promotional activities and initiatives to increase sales, customer engagement and outlet performance.
• Identify operational issues and implement practical solutions to improve efficiency, service delivery and profitability.
• Take responsibility for maintaining the outlet, equipment and facilities to appropriate operational standards.

Skills and Experience Required

• Minimum two years’ relevant retail, hospitality or outlet management experience; OR
• At least a NZQF Level 4 qualification or higher in Hospitality, Business, Administration, Retail or any other related field.
• Either qualification or work experience is required.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage and make operational decisions for a retail or hospitality outlet.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of sales, costs, stock control and profitability.
• Strong leadership, planning, decision-making and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage staff and business operations with minimal supervision.
