A Laundry Assistant at Summerset is more than just a cleaner. You are a quiet hero behind the scenes - keeping our village fresh, homely, and dignified for the people who live here. We’re looking for a hardworking, caring Laundry Assistant to join our warm and welcoming Nelson village team. This role is all about making sure our residents feel comfortable, safe, and truly at home. As a Laundry Assistant, you'll be a key part of creating a clean, uplifting, and homelike environment for residents, their whānau, and fellow team members.

Responsibilities

• Laundering, folding and returning residents’ clothing and linens with care and attention
• Labelling, mending and maintaining residents' personal laundry items
• Supporting infection control measures and health and safety procedures
• Building friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understanding their unique needs

This is a permanent, part- time role, working Monday to Friday, 9.00pm - 12.00am

Qualifications

• You have experience in housekeeping ideally in healthcare or hopsiatlity
• Take pride in your work and care about the small details
• Are physically fit and comfortable working on your feet
• Have a genuine interest in aged care (no experience necessary - full training provided)
