Veterinary Technician – Vet Services Hawke’s Bay

Vet Services is a locally owned business with four clinics across Hawke’s Bay and Dannevirke regions. The combined skills of our team create a comprehensive veterinary service for our clients and their animals. We are proud to be a long-standing part of the communities we serve, supporting a wide range of industry groups, local teams, and community events.

One of our Vet Techs is heading off on parental leave, and we’re looking for someone to step in and keep things running smoothly, supporting our Production Animal and wider team at the Waipukurau clinic. This is a fixed-term, 12-month role suited to someone who enjoys variety, works well alongside farmers, and thrives in the fast-paced nature of rural veterinary practice—where no two days are the same.

Key responsibilities
  • On-farm services such as dehorning, teat-sealing, vaccinating, and lifestyle block work
  • Sheep handling services (Conveyor)
  • Assisting veterinarians with procedures
  • Equipment care, organisation, and maintenance
  • In-house laboratory testing (FEC, nitrate, FE spore counts)
  • General property maintenance tasks
