Job summary

Hastings District Council is seeking a passionate Landscape Officer to lead landscape and renewal projects across district parks and public spaces. You will draw on technical knowledge to support planning and delivery, working with contractors and stakeholders to create welcoming environments that enhance community wellbeing.

The role emphasizes project management, advisory capabilities, and ensuring spaces remain attractive and thriving for residents and visitors alike.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Level 4 qualification or higher in horticulture, landscape, arboriculture or open space management, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with a focus on delivering quality outcomes within budget.
  • Sound technical judgement and the confidence to provide expert advice and guidance.

As part of this commitment, we are looking for a passionate and experienced Landscape Officer to lead landscape and renewal projects that enhance the district parks, reserve, gardens and public spaces. Drawing on your technical knowledge you will support the planning and delivery of landscape and renewal projects. Working alongside contractors, colleagues and community stakeholders to create welcoming environments. You will play a key role in shaping the look and feel of our district, helping ensure our outdoor spaces continue to thrive.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Relevant Level 4 qualification or higher in horticulture, landscape, arboriculture or open space management, or equivalent experience.
