Job summary

Roading and Building Recruitment – Canterbury is seeking a skilled Construction Labourer to join a trusted civil team delivering infrastructure across Christchurch and Canterbury.

Skilled Construction Labourer | Canterbury

Previous experience in civil construction with digger and roller experience is required with current WTR endorsements. If you have a strong work ethic, physically fit to labour and the right attitude, we want you!

The Role

You will be working on a variety of civil construction sites across Christchurch, supporting crews on infrastructure and roading projects. This is hands‑on, physical work where no two days are the same.

Your duties may include:

• Proficient Wheel, Track and Roller operation
• Trenching, digging, and site preparation
• Pipe laying and drainage work
• Concrete preparation and finishing support
• Operating small tools and equipment
• Assisting machine operators and supervisors
• Maintaining a safe and tidy worksite

This role requires a good level of physical fitness, as you will be lifting, digging, working outdoors, and on your feet for extended periods. Early starts (typically 5:00am-6:00am) are common, so reliable transport is essential.
