Job summary

Watercare Services Limited in New Zealand seeks a laboratory technician to support analytical results for customers. You'll assist chemists and microbiologists, maintaining lab housekeeping and sample preparation, with a Tue-Sat 9-5.30pm shift.

Ideal candidates have secondary education to NCEA Level 3, a methodical approach, good computer skills, and the physical ability to handle the role's duties. Training and development opportunities are provided along with staff benefits.

Qualifications

• In this role you will bring a methodical approach to work and proficiency with computer use.
• Secondary education to NCEA 3 with an interest in science is expected.
• Proficiency with standard computer applications and data entry is required.

Responsibilities

• Laboratory housekeeping and maintaining cleanliness of the workspace.
• Sample bottle preparation for analyses.
• Sample disposal in accordance with safety and environmental protocols.
• Discarding samples, chemicals and reagents following safety rules.
• Operating autoclaves and dishwashers.
• Supporting analysts with resource supplies and testing.
• Day-to-day tasks align with the analytical needs of customers.
