ALS is seeking a Sample Receipt / Laboratory Technician to join our Christchurch lab. Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, you will log samples in LIMS, maintain records, and perform basic prep like drying and weighing while keeping workspaces safe and compliant.

You will thrive in a busy lab, be detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while upholding safety standards and accurate data entry.

Formación

• Secondary school qualifications with science subjects or relevant laboratory experience.
• Basic understanding of laboratory practices.
• Good computer literacy and accurate data entry skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean working environment.

Responsabilidades

• Receiving, registering, labelling, and logging samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Preparing sample documentation and maintaining accurate laboratory records.
• Performing basic sample preparation activities, including drying, sieving, weighing, and packaging samples.
• Ensuring samples are handled, stored, and disposed of in accordance with laboratory procedures.
• Maintaining clean, organised, and safe laboratory workspaces.
• Cleaning laboratory equipment and sample preparation areas as required.
• Assisting laboratory staff with routine operational activities.
• Following quality assurance, quality control, and workplace safety procedures at all times.
