We have an exciting opportunity in our Laboratory team as a Laboratory Assistant based in Hastings, New Zealand (Tomoana).

Key responsibilities
  • Conduct sampling and logging of selected samples, including in-process samples, swabs, waters, ingredients, and finished products at Hastings Factories
  • Prepare media and equipment required for micro testing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Prepare a variety of samples for micro and chemistry testing, adhering to laboratory protocols
  • Assist laboratory technicians with testing duties, where training has been completed, to support efficient workflow
  • Perform basic analysis, including pH and chlorine tests, daily for media and samples, maintaining accurate records
About you
  • Laboratory experience with a good understanding of laboratory protocols and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and laboratory software systems
  • Collaborative team player with a focus on teamwork and support
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload, helping Laboratory Technicians as required
  • Meticulous attention to detail with accurate record-keeping and reporting skills
  • Current Driver's License holder with a willingness to travel to Hastings Factories
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand with full working rights
