Job summary

Fonterra is seeking a processing operator at Reporoa, Waikato, to run automated production lines and ensure world-class quality. The role involves 12-hour shifts on a four-on/ four-off cycle, contributing to a safety-first culture and collaborative team dynamics.

The successful candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, good planning and problem‑solving skills, and a proactive attitude to maintain high performance within our NZ manufacturing operations.

Established in 1968 and located in the heart of the Waikato’s dairying region, our Reporoa site has grown its capability to process 2.5 million litres of milk per day.

About the Opportunity | Mō tēnei tūranga

As a processing operator at Reporoa, your key responsibilities will be:

• Setting up, monitoring and operating automated production machinery.
• Performing quality checks to ensure our products meet world class standards.
• Running machine diagnostics and problem solving.
• Ensuring documentation is correct and complete.

Your hours of work will be: Four on, Four off, 12 hour shifts. Two days, followed by two nights then four off.

We have 2 positions available, 4 months and 6 months.

Your strong mechanical aptitude, planning and sound problem-solving skills will ensure things run smoothly - as you won't just identify the problem, you'll be part of finding and implementing the solution. Together with work ethic, you'll be able to demonstrate a background of:
