L2 Network & Security Support Engineer - Auckland CBD

Are you a talented Network & Security Engineer looking for your next challenge and a clear path for growth? A leading organization in Auckland CBD seeking a dedicated L2 Network & Security Support Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis and support internal and external stakeholders.

In this role, you'll be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the robust network and security infrastructure. You'll primarily focus on providing L2 support, troubleshooting complex issues, implementing solutions, and contributing to the overall security posture of our systems. This position offers excellent career progression opportunities into Network Engineering, Security Engineering, or advanced L3 support roles, supported by further certification pathways.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide L2 support for network and security incidents and requests.
• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity, performance, and security issues.
• Configure and maintain network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) and security tools.
• Monitor network and security systems for alerts and potential threats.
• Participate in security incident response and vulnerability management.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and other IT teams to ensure seamless operations.

What you'll bring:

• Proven experience in a L2 network and security support role.
• Availability for on-call support.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs).
• Hands-on experience with firewalls (FortiGate, Cisco, Palo Alto) and network devices (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Meraki).
• Familiarity with security concepts like intrusion detection/prevention, anti-malware, and access control.
• Minimum NSE 4 / CCNA / CCNP or, similar (MUST HAVE)
