Job summary

Kmart Rotorua NZ is seeking a Part-time Duty Manager to support store leaders across key in-store processes, driving efficiency and operational excellence. You will contribute to maintaining presentation standards and ensure safe end-of-trade tasks are completed as part of daily leadership.

The role involves a Sunday to Wednesday roster, 3:30pm to midnight across 32 hours per week, with opportunities for growth within Kmart Group.

Lead. Inspire. Deliver. As a Duty Manager , you’ll support Kmart store leaders across key in-store processes, helping drive efficiency & operational excellence. Supporting management strong presentation standards across the store. Contributing to the successful closing of the store, ensuring all end-of-trade tasks are completed accurately and safely.

What you’ll be doing

Working a Sunday to Wednesday roster, 3:30pm to midnight across 32hours per week.

• Leadership & Motivation – Lead by example through a hands-on approach, working alongside team members to provide support, foster collaboration, and motivate individuals to achieve shared goals and high performance.
• Strategic Thinking – Make timely decisions within scope, applying experience and judgement while seeking guidance from Department or Store Managers when needed.
• Relationship Building – Keep the team informed and aligned, fostering collaboration, valuing diverse perspectives, and recognising individual contributions.
• Operational Excellence – Consistently achieve set goals by maintaining focus, overcoming challenges, and seeing tasks through to completion.
