Job summary

Punchbowl PackCo in Patumahoe, Auckland, is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join our rural engineering team. The role covers maintenance, fabrication, installation, and continuous improvement within our kiwifruit packhouse operation, working across year-round automation systems.

During peak season (Feb–Apr) the site runs 24/7; outside these months hours are Monday to Friday. You will contribute to safe, efficient operations and support projects across our packhouse and equipment.

Qualifications

• TIG and MIG welding capability.
• Strong mechanical and maintenance engineering experience.
• Experience troubleshooting machinery and equipment.
• Experience with pneumatics.
• Relevant trade qualification such as Fitter Welder, Fitter Turner or similar.
• Good practical problem-solving ability and safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Planned and reactive maintenance on packhouse machinery and equipment.
• Breakdown response and troubleshooting.
• Fabrication and welding work.
• Installation, relocation and refurbishment of machinery.
• Supporting machinery upgrades and engineering projects.
• Maintaining safe, tidy and food-grade work practices.
