Job summary

Riverlock Packhouse is seeking a Production & Machine Optimiser / Maintenance Assistant to support and enhance kiwifruit packing and coolstorage production. You’ll help hit targets, boost line efficiency, and keep machinery running at peak capability, collaborating with senior leadership to improve throughput and reduce downtime.

You’ll work in a fast-paced seasonal environment with hands-on machine setup, routine maintenance, and adherence to SOPs, contributing to high-quality packout

Qualifications

• Mechanically minded with practical troubleshooting ability.
• Understanding of packhouse or production-line workflows preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to follow established procedures and documentation standards.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
• Positive attitude, initiative and willingness to learn.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support daily production targets by ensuring machinery and optimiser systems run efficiently.
• Monitor machinery outputs to drive consistent packout quality and achieve targeted production volumes.
• Identify bottlenecks and support changes that increase throughput and reduce waste.
• Provide hands-on assistance with machine set-ups and changeovers to keep the line running smoothly.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and basic repairs to reduce downtime.
• Help maintain accurate SOPs and production documentation.
• Work with operations, quality, and maintenance teams to uplift overall equipment performance.
