Job summary

Compass Group New Zealand is seeking a reliable Casual Kitchen Hand to join the team at Pukekohe Hospital. You will assist with food preparation, dishwashing and kitchen cleaning, while upholding high food safety and hygiene standards in a busy environment.

This casual role offers as-and-when-required shifts with eligible weekend penalties, flexible hours to fit around other commitments, and opportunities to grow within New Zealand’s leading food services provider.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or hospitality experience would be an advantage.
• NZQA Food Handling Certificate Unit Standard 167, or willingness to complete required food safety training.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• A reliable, hardworking and flexible approach with a positive can-do attitude.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, portioning and plating for service.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans and kitchen equipment.
• Keep kitchen, dining and service areas clean, tidy and hygienic.
• Receive, replenish and rotate stock and supplies.
• Follow food safety, infection control and health and safety procedures.
• Provide friendly service and work effectively as part of the wider team.

He Angitūtanga / The Opportunity

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Casual Kitchen Hand to join our team at Pukekohe Hospital.

This is a casual position, with shifts offered on an as-and-when-required basis and no guaranteed weekly hours. You will help deliver a quality catering service by supporting food preparation, kitchen cleaning, dishwashing and food service while maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards.

Eligible weekend shifts provide the opportunity to earn extra through applicable penal rates.

• Assist with food preparation, portioning and plating for service
• Wash dishes, pots, pans and kitchen equipment
• Keep kitchen, dining and service areas clean, tidy and hygienic
