Job summary

Arvida in Hawke's Bay is seeking a friendly Kitchen Assistant to join the team on a part-time basis. You will help with meal preparation, ingredient assembly and basic cooking tasks to support resident dining experiences.

The role is Monday and Tuesday, 9:00am–3:00pm, with potential for extra shifts. Candidates should have kitchen experience, be reliable, hygienic and a good team player in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working within a commercial kitchen or similar environment.
• Highly motivated with the ability to take initiative and be flexible.
• Great hygiene standards and commitment to health and safety.
• Ability to work closely with and support colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef with kitchen tasks and meal preparation.
• Prepare ingredients, bake, cook, toast and heat food items as directed.
• Keep kitchen and scullery areas clean, tidy and safe.
• Support with general kitchen duties and fixed roster hours.

We're looking for a friendly and flexible assistant to join our fantastic Kitchen team.

The Kitchen Assistant contributes to the quality of life of our residents by providing assistance in kitchen-related activities that provide quality food services to our residents.

You will support the Head Chef / Kitchen Manager through kitchen and meal preparation including assembling and preparing ingredients, baking, cooking, toasting, and heating food items.

You will also be responsible for keeping the kitchen and scullery areas clean, tidy, and safe.

This is a Permanent Part -time Role (Monday & Tuesdays 09.00am - 3.00pm), with potential for extra shifts in the main Kitchen.
