Job summary

Red Star Burger Bar in Wanaka seeks a motivated Cook/Kitchen Assistant for a full-time permanent role, approx 30–35 hours per week.

You will operate a grill, handle prep, and support service with a tidy, fast-paced workspace. Strong teamwork and clear communication are essential; you’ll contribute to quality burgers, staff meals, and a positive kitchen atmosphere.

Role starts soon; applicants should be available within 1–2 weeks.

We are looking for someone who knows how to operate a grill and flip a burger or 2. You will have great time & team management when prepping and during service. All with the ability to do this in tidy and clean manner. This role offers a variety of responsibilities, so flexibility and teamwork are essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain a clean, efficient workspace are key. You'll be involved in prep work, grilling, and other kitchen duties.
