Job summary

Te Taiwhenua o Te Whanganui ā Orotu in Hawke's Bay seeks a part-time Communications Advisor to promote Kaupapa Māori and protect the organisation's reputation. You will craft and deliver key korero, manage internal communications, and coordinate events from Te Whanganui ā Orotu.

The role requires a degree in communications or PR, experience in generalist communications, Te Reo Māori fluency, and strong web/social media literacy.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, marketing (or related field).
• Experience in a generalist communications role across an organisation.
• Experience within a Māori organisation; fluency in Te Reo Māori preferred.
• Strong web and social media literacy with data-driven decision-making.
• Familiarity with media design, layout, photography and videography.

Responsibilities

• Craft and deliver key korero to promote the organisation.
• Manage internal communications and coordinate events.
• Produce articles and press releases.
• Develop stakeholder engagement plans.
• Oversee social media with a Kaupapa Māori focus.
• Provide communication advice to the CEO and senior leadership.
