At Active Explorers Nelson Street, we believe every child is unique. Our localised curriculum is thoughtfully designed to weave together local pūrākau, history, and community values, supporting tamariki to grow socially, emotionally, and culturally. With rich open-ended resources and opportunities to care for our veggie garden, children are encouraged to follow their interests, lead their own learning, and develop confidence through play.

Joining our team, you'll be part of a passionate group of Kaiako who embrace a hands-on, heart-led approach to learning. We create meaningful experiences that foster curiosity, kindness, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging. We also value strong relationships with whānau and our wider community, creating an environment where everyone feels supported and included.

Guided by the Evolve Education Group values - Kotahitanga, Mahi te mahi, Manaakitanga, and Kia manawanui - we foster an inclusive and supportive environment where Kaiako are encouraged to grow, collaborate, and make a meaningful difference every day.

If you're a caring and enthusiastic Non-Certificated Kaiako looking to join a passionate team where relationships come first and every day brings opportunities to learn, grow, and make a difference, we'd love to hear from you!

Our offer to you:

  • Permanent position, 30 hours per week.
  • A welcoming, collaborative team that values your ideas and contributions.
  • A well-resourced centre where your creativity and teaching can flourish.
  • Paid First Aid.
  • Subsidised childcare for your tamariki.
  • Connection to the wider Evolve Education Group network of passionate ECE professionals.
  • A half-day of birthday leave because everyone deserves a little extra celebration.

What we're looking for in you:

  • A caring, positive, and nurturing approach.
  • Someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships with children, whānau, and fellow Kaiako.
  • A willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to a supportive team environment.
  • A positive attitude and a desire to make a difference in the lives of tamariki.
