Job summary

Auckland Girls’ Grammar School seeks a committed Kaiako Māori to join Ngā Tūmanako o Kahurangi, our Māori unit for Years 9–13. Start 28/01/2027; fixed-term through 10/12/2027. You will continue developing te reo Māori and tikanga within the unit and the wider school community.

Applicants must have high proficiency in te reo Māori and the ability to teach through te reo Māori. Experience with NCEA is beneficial; teaching Te Ao Haka is advantageous.

Qualifications

• High level of proficiency in te reo Māori.
• Ability to teach through te reo Māori.
• Experience teaching NCEA is beneficial.
• Skills in teaching Te Ao Haka would be advantageous.

Job description

We are seeking a committed, motivated and passionate Kaiako Māori to join Auckland Girls’ Grammar School and Ngā Tūmanako o Kahurangi, our Māori unit for Years 9–13. The successful applicant will continue the development of te reo Māori and tikanga Māori within the unit and wider school. Ngā Tūmanako o Kahurangi is dedicated to creating opportunities for our ākonga to grow and succeed as Māori. You will work collaboratively with our kura community and whānau to support the success of our ākonga and kaupapa Māori.

Applicants must have a high level of proficiency in te reo Māori and the ability to teach through the medium of te reo Māori. Experience teaching NCEA would be beneficial, and skills in teaching Te Ao Haka would be advantageous. Please state other teaching subjects and areas of Te Marautanga o Aotearoa that you are able to teach.
