Job summary

Kōraunui School in Lower Hutt is seeking a dedicated Kaiako to join from start of 2027 on a full-time fixed-term basis. The role covers Years 1–8 with a strong focus on culturally responsive teaching and building positive relationships with students, whānau and staff.

Applicants must hold NZ teacher registration and be committed to inclusive, high-quality learning. The position starts 28 January 2027 and ends 15 December 2027, with the Bonding Scheme potentially applying.

Qualifications

• Must hold current New Zealand teacher registration.
• Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) teaching role.
• Experience with diverse communities and te reo Māori is valued.
• Ability to create engaging learning experiences for tamariki.

Responsibilities

• Teach across primary and intermediate year levels (Years 1–8) in listed subjects.
• Collaborate with staff to support student wellbeing and achievement.
• Build positive relationships with students, whānau and colleagues.
• Contribute to planning, assessment and school-wide initiatives.
