Northland Kindergarten Association (NKA) is seeking an enthusiastic and capable teacher (kaiako) to join the team at Mairtown Kindergarten, Whangārei. This (0.5) position will commence as soon as possible.
Mairtown Kindergarten kaiako believe that relationships with tamariki should be based on respect and affection and that tamariki learn and develop best when kaiako are responsive and share with tamariki an understanding of the world through engagement and play.

Mairtown Kindergarten has a team of 5 kaiako, and a part-time administrator. The kindergarten operates five 6-hour sessions Monday to Friday catering for 40 children between two and six years of age, this kindergarten operates an ‘All Year’ Programme. This 20-hour position will have varying daily hours.
Mairtown Kindergarten is part of a network of 25 kindergartens within the NKA. The kindergarten is supported by professional practice and management teams. NKA adheres to the employment conditions as offered in the Kindergarten Teacher, Head Teachers, and Senior Teachers Collective Agreement 2023-2026.
Applicants must hold a recognised New Zealand ECE qualification (minimum Dip Teaching ECE), current practicing certificate, and first aid certificate.
