A community development organization is seeking a Junior/Trainee Gardener for Mayen Estate in Huntly. The role focuses on assisting in the upkeep of extensive gardens and growing organic plants. Applicants should be passionate about outdoors, have excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a commitment to the traineeship program. This part-time opportunity requires commuting to Mayen Estate and offers hands-on experience in a beautiful setting.

We are recruiting to the following role: Junior / Trainee Gardener, Mayen Estate - Huntly.
Salary range: From £6.40 per hour, Duration: Part-time, Apprenticeship, Graduate, Internship, Working hours: 16 hours per week, Location: Huntly.
We are looking for confident young people who are passionate about plants, gardens and nature, enjoy spending time outdoors in all weather and who work well as part of a team.
Mayen Estate is a small family-run estate, near Rothiemay in Banffshire and is home to Mr & Mrs A Cheyne and family. Our 700 acres are filled with extensive gardens and lawns, as well as meadows and woodland, set in the Deveron Valley.
We have five self-catering holiday cottages on the Estate and we offer Fishing on the Mayen House Beat of the River Deveron, as well as host Clay Pigeon Shooting.
The grounds, gardens and walks at Mayen Estate including the Walled Garden are not open to the public, but can be enjoyed by our holiday and event guests.
The walled garden features glasshouses, a fruit cage, vegetable beds, cut flower beds, mature fruit trees, herbaceous border, rose garden, mature yew hedging, box hedges, water features, ornamental trees, shrubs and perennial flowers.
Hours would be worked over two week days each week to fit in with college schedule. Must be able to reliably commute to Mayen Estate Rothiemay.
