Job summary

St Peter's Catholic School (Cambridge) in Waikato invites applications from an enthusiastic Year 1 teacher to join our state-integrated school with a strong Catholic character. The position is currently fixed-term but being established as permanent, offering a caring, supportive staff and well-resourced classrooms.

Qualifications

• NZ registered teacher with current practicing certificate.
• Eligible to teach in NZ primary school (Years 1–8).
• Experience with structured literacy and mathematics recommended.
• Commitment to Catholic character values and school ethos.
• Collaborative teaching in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging curriculum for Year 1 with focus on literacy and numeracy.
• Collaborate with other junior teachers and support staff.
• Incorporate Catholic character values into daily teaching.
• Assess student progress and adapt instruction accordingly.
• Contribute to ongoing professional development and school initiatives.

St Peter’s Catholic School invites applications from enthusiastic, nurturing Year 1 teachers to join our state-integrated special character school in the heart of Cambridge. This position, currently operating on a fixed-term basis, is now being established as a permanent role. We are looking for someone who:

• is willing to support and teach our special catholic character programme and values
• would embrace working within a supportive environment alongside an experienced junior teacher
• has a caring, student-focused teaching approach
• has experience with structured literacy and mathematics
• is NZ registered and able to teach in a New Zealand primary school.
