About the role | Ko te mahi nei

We are seeking a dynamic individual with excellent people and technical skills. In this role, you will:

  • Work closely with data stewards and owners to ensure robust data management processes and governance.
  • Support data transformation and integration from both internal and external sources.
  • Assist with the development and running of quality assurance processes to ensure data is fit for purpose and meets legislative requirements.
  • Help design and develop automated data processes.
  • Contribute to the Council's corporate data management responsibilities, ensuring efficient and reliable data collection.

You'll be working with core applications such as SQL, ESRI, GIS, SAP, RPA, UiPath, Power Platform, and FME.

  • A passion for data management and quality.
  • The ability to discern and document customer requirements.
  • Experience or interest in data governance, automation, migration, and customer relations.
  • A collaborative approach and a willingness to learn and grow within a supportive team.
  • Minimum of bachelor's level qualification in computer science, information science, or related field, or relevant and equivalent experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Hours of work - Fulltime
  • Position - Permanent
  • Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street
  • Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $74,394 to $82,660 per annum based on a 40-hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
  • Closing Date - Tuesday 30th September 2025
