Our client is a design & build mechanical engineering service company specialising in component manufacturing, maintenance engineering, structural & re-engineering services including machining, fabrication, fitting, design, draughting and project management. They are a one stop shop and ideally located to service the Bay of plenty and surrounding areas.We are seeking a Job Manager with estimating capability to join this innovative and professional organisation based in the Mount, Bay of Plenty. This is a full time permanent contract and the purpose of this position is to coordinate all activities related to allocated projects.
- Liaise with clients. engineers, architects, reps and suppliers and manage and evaluate project needs & timeframes
- Calculate, measure & carry out quoting and budget estimates,
- Prepare estimates and proposals for various jobs
- Prepare detailed job plans to pass on to the Workshop team
- Chair when necessary project update meetings to ensure adequate internal communication
- Procure materials
- Monitor progress on allocated jobs and update key stake holders
- QA & compliance
- Maintain company HSQ program
Oversee the planning, manufacturing and quality aspects of assigned jobs as they go through the workshop & ensure that jobs are delivered in full, on time and to specification while providing value to the customer and the company.
A key component of this role is to ensure customer relationships are maintained and where possible enhanced. You will gain a clear understanding of the requirements of assigned jobs including scope, expected price and margin, quality and delivery and payment terms.
You will need a solid background and/or qualifications in engineering, with experience ideally in either fabrication or production and jobbing environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral are essential in this role as is computer literacy and with good skills in Microsoft Office Packages. You will be highly organised with excellent planning abilities.
