Job summary

Global Wave Group seeks an experienced Java Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems powering core business applications. You will collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and other developers to deliver secure, high-performance solutions.

The role focuses on Java 8+, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices. You will work in an on-site Albany, Auckland environment with an emphasis on code quality, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong experience with Java 8+ and Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development.
• Experience with Microservices Architecture.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as MySQL.
• Experience with ORM frameworks such as MyBatis, Hibernate, or JPA.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of software design principles and best practices.

Role Purpose

The Java Backend Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems that power critical business applications. This role will work closely with product managers, QA engineers, and fellow developers to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performance solutions.

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot
