Placements24 seeks a diligent Internal Auditor to join our client in Queenstown. You will conduct financial, operational, and IT audits to ensure the effectiveness of internal controls and governance.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of audit experience, a Bachelor’s in accounting/finance, and professional certification such as CIA or CA. Prior banking industry exposure is preferred. Flexible remote work is available.

Qualifications

• CIA/CA or equivalent certification preferred.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Internal Auditor to join their team in Queenstown . This role is essential for ensuring the efficiency, effectiveness, and integrity of the organization's operations and internal controls. You will conduct comprehensive audits of financial, operational, and IT processes, identify risks, and recommend improvements to management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of auditing standards and practices within the Banking & Finance sector, ensuring robust governance and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute internal audit engagements in accordance with the annual audit plan.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.
• Perform financial, operational, and compliance audits across various departments.
• Identify control weaknesses, inefficiencies, and non-compliance issues, documenting findings and recommendations.
• Prepare clear and concise audit reports for management and the audit committee.
• Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations to ensure timely closure.
• Stay current with industry best practices, emerging risks, and regulatory changes affecting the banking sector.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CA, or equivalent is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, or risk management, preferably within the banking industry.
