Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking an enthusiastic Intern Ophthalmic Technician to join the Ophthalmology team at Manukau Health Park. The role involves performing visual function tests and ophthalmic assessments, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.

Full training will be provided to successful applicants. Based at Manukau Health Park with potential regional site exposure (Greenlane or Waitemata).

Qualifications

• Demonstrated attention to detail and time management in clinical settings.
• Able to use basic computer systems and software.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small, multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct visual function tests and ophthalmic assessments under supervision.
• Support clinicians in patient care and data collection.
• Collaborate with medical, nursing, orthoptic and allied health staff to ensure accurate results.

Are you looking for a rewarding role where your skills can make a real difference in peoples lives? Were seeking enthusiastic and detail-focused intern Ophthalmic Technicians to join our friendly and dedicated Ophthalmology team, based at Module 6 Manukau health Park.

In this role, you will work closely with medical, nursing, orthoptic, and other allied health professionals to carry out a range of visual function tests and ophthalmic assessments. Your expertise will help support accurate diagnoses and treatment plans, ensuring the best outcomes for our patients and their whaanau. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
