Job summary

Civix in Auckland is seeking an Intermediate Surveyor to join our central Auckland office. You will work across a broad range of land development and infrastructure projects, gaining exposure to both field and office work while growing your technical capability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Diploma in Surveying (or equivalent) preferred.
• 2–5+ years’ experience in civil construction and/or land development surveying.
• Good working knowledge of NZ surveying principles and LINZ requirements.
• Experience with survey software (e.g. AutoCAD, 12d, Leica Infinity).

Responsibilities

• Delivering end-to-end surveying tasks across land development and civil projects.
• Carrying out fieldwork, data processing and plan preparation.
• Supporting project delivery by coordinating tasks, tracking progress and milestones.
• Completing topographic and construction surveys to a high professional standard.
• Working closely with planners, engineers and other consultants on multidisciplinary projects.
• Communicating with clients and stakeholders on project progress and technical matters.
• Supporting and guiding junior surveyors where appropriate.
• Identifying risks and contributing to solutions to keep projects on track.

  What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor or Diploma in Surveying (or equivalent) preferred
  • 2–5+ years’ experience in civil construction and/or land development surveying
  • Good working knowledge of NZ surveying principles and LINZ requirements
  • Experience with survey software (e.g. AutoCAD, 12d, Leica Infinity)
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Someone who takes ownership of their work and enjoys being part of a team
  • Cadastral experience is a bonus but not essential.
