Job summary

DXC Technology in Wellington seeks an Intermediate Engineer to contribute hands-on software engineering, including design, development, testing and production support.

You will work with Java, J2EE, Spring and related tech, guide teammates, define requirements with cross-functional teams, manage tasks, and help mitigate risks.

The role supports an on-call roster and offers a collaborative, inclusive environment with opportunities to grow technical leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience
• Proficiency in at least one programming language and development methodologies
• Strong programming and debugging skills
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to learn and grow in a leadership role

Responsibilities

• Develop software using Java, J2EE, Spring, Oracle DB, WebLogic, REST/SOAP, Vue.js, Git, Jenkins, Linux and DevOps practices
• Support a team of engineers with guidance, code reviews, and technical support
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and ensure successful delivery
• Manage tasks, prioritize work, and plan to meet project goals
• Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and resolve issues
• Promote innovation, collaboration and continuous learning; participate in on-call roster is preferred
