Job description

This award-winning project management firm has an outstanding reputation across the construction industry, delivering high-profile projects to both the public and private sectors. Due to growth, they are now seeking an intermediate-level project manager.

The role will see you being supported by a senior project manager and, with appropriate mentoring, you will typically need to:

  1. Establish the project by appointing consultants, producing feasibility studies, monitoring statutory processes, and advising on procurement options.
  2. Manage the construction phase, overseeing QA/risk, financial reporting, budget management/cost control, programming, defects list, remedial works, and various project reports.
  3. Manage stakeholders and conduct or chair meetings.

As a project manager, you should come from a project management consultancy with 3-5 years of NZ-based experience involving projects across industries such as aged care, high-rise residential, health, education, utilities, and rail. A tertiary qualification in Architecture, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or Building Science is essential. Leadership qualities, a tenacious attitude, and passion for your work are important. Your ability to articulate issues, build relationships, and develop your professional brand will contribute to your success.
