Job summary

Gracious Living in Auckland is seeking a full-time Interior Designer for our Remuera showroom. You will meet clients in showroom and on site to define briefs, establish budgets, set specifications and take accurate measurements.

The role focuses on residential projects with fabrics, furniture, lighting and international materials. You will manage a project from conception through to completion and participate in external client appointments, working as a confident team player with strong

Qualifications

• Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or Fine Arts required.
• At least 3 years postgraduate experience as Interior Designer in the residential market.
• Experience with international fabrics and furniture is essential.
• Sales-focused role requiring strong communication and presentation skills.

Job description

We require another full time Interior Designer for our showroom based in Remuera, Auckland. The days of employment will range from Monday to Saturday with the focus being primarily Monday to Friday with the flexibility of working 1-2 Saturdays per month.

Key responsibilities

Meet clients here in the showroom and on site to define briefs, establish budget, specifications and take accurate measurements where needed

Select appropriate fabrics, furniture, lighting and homeware that align with the design brief and clients needs

Manage a project from conception through to completion

Attend external appointments with clients where needed

About you

Minimum of a Degree Level qualification in Interior Design or Architecture of Fine Arts

At least 3 years postgraduate experience as an Interior Designer in the residential market

Previous or current experience working for an Interior Design company, furniture manufacturer or International fabric house

You will be confident in your approach as this is a sales focused role

An excellent understanding and background working with international fabrics and furniture including designs, textures, materials, history and compositions

To be relationship focused and a real team player

Possess excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills

Must have a respectable car and full clean drivers licence

New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa
