Job summary

Thales in Queenstown, New Zealand seeks an experienced IVVQ Engineer to lead verification, validation and integration efforts for defense and supporting systems. You will plan and execute IVV activities, define test strategies, and generate system test plans and reports.

Collaborating with the IVVQ Manager and project engineers, you will optimize testing durations, manage resources, and address defects and engineering changes for customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 5 years of relevant Verification/Validation experience on large integrated systems.
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux/Android systems.
  • Experience with defect reporting, characterization and management workflows; familiar with defect management tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret requirement documentation; familiar with requirements management tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiar with functional tests, user scenario tests, automation and test case writing.
  • Comfortable troubleshooting IT software and hardware.
  • Willingness to travel to Europe 1 month per quarter.

Responsibilities

Job description

The IVVQ Engineer is responsible for planning, participating and supervising the integration, verification and validation (IVV) activities for defense and supporting systems. He/she assures that the appropriate means and practices are applied to guarantee adherence to defined requirements and quality standards with minimal wasted effort or inefficiencies. The IVVQ Engineer is also responsible for the test plan and reports, assuring that the scope of the IVV activities fully cover all aspects of the system under test, while taking all previous verification activities on comparable systems into account to optimize the test effort.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the planning and execution of IVV activities
  • Decide the appropriate test strategy, modules and practices
  • Create and conduct the System Test plan and report
  • Work closely with IVVQ Manager and Project Engineers to agree on testing durations and project risks
  • Efficiently manages test resources (staff, software & hardware)
  • Manage Defects / Engineering Changes for the customer
  • Contribute to the estimation, planning and execution of IVV activities
  • Participate in Bid activities by providing scope and costing
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 5 years of relevant experience in Verification/Validation experience in large integrated systems

  • Expertise in defect reporting, characterization, and management workflows - Use of common defect management and tools
  • Ability to read and interpret requirement documentation - Use of common requirements management and tools

  • Comfortable with handling and performing basic troubleshooting on IT software & hardware
  • Comfortable with travelling to Europe 1 month per quarter
