Job summary

Mana College in Wellington seeks a Learning Support Teacher (Numeracy focus) for a January 2027 start. The role centers on supporting numeracy development within a flexible timetable and across team-teaching contexts to help all students access the NZ Curriculum.

The position involves diagnosing learning gaps, co-teaching with kaiako, leading IEPs with whānau and stakeholders, and embedding PB4L/Restorative Practice while building strong whānau connections.

Qualifications

• Relevant teaching qualifications and current NZ Teaching Council registration.
• Proven strengths in numeracy and literacy learning design.
• Experience with PB4L and Restorative Practice frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Numeracy, literacy and ESOL support: conduct diagnostic assessments to identify learning gaps and provide targeted strategies.
• Innovative and co-teaching: adapt lesson plans and pedagogy across team-teaching contexts.
• Lead IEP development, implementation and review with students, whānau and key stakeholders.
• Maintain timetable flexibility across varied timetables and settings.
• Lead Whare Āhuru form class and embed PB4L and Restorative Practice.
• Support social transitions and foster positive social skills.
• Collaborate with Learning Support, Learning Area Heads, Hauora team and SLT; engage in professional growth cycles.
• Demonstrate relational pedagogy and culturally responsive practice.
