Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Energy Storage Systems Engineer to join our innovative team in Queenstown, NZ. You will design, integrate, and test battery energy storage systems (BESS) for grid-scale and commercial projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust energy storage solutions that complement renewable energy generation.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, 4+ years in power systems engineering focusing on energy storage, and hands-on

Qualifications

Minimum of 4 years of experience in power systems engineering with focus on energy storage.
Strong understanding of battery technologies (Li-ion), power electronics, and control systems.
Experience with BESS modeling software and grid interconnection studies.
Familiarity with safety standards for energy storage systems.

Responsibilities

Design and specify components for battery energy storage systems (batteries, inverters, control systems).
Develop integration plans for BESS with renewable energy sources and the grid.
Conduct performance modeling, simulations, and feasibility studies for storage projects.
Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of energy storage systems.
Troubleshoot technical issues and optimize system performance post-commissioning.
Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards, codes, and regulations.
