Job summary

Takapuna Grammar School invites applications for a Certificated Geography teacher to join our Social Sciences department. The successful candidate will teach Geography across Years 7–15 and support the development of new programmes aligned with the NZ curriculum and IB options.

NZ registration and residency or a valid NZ work visa are required. The role commences Term 1, 2027, with opportunities to contribute to co-curricular life and to potentially teach Geography scholarship.

Qualifications

• NZ registered to teach in New Zealand
• Experience teaching Geography in secondary or wharekura settings preferred
• Ability to develop innovative Geography programmes in line with NZ curriculum and IB options

Responsibilities

• Inspire students to think critically about the world through Geography lessons
• Deliver Geography within NZ curriculum and IB pathways where appropriate
• Contribute to developing new programmes and co-curricular opportunities
