Job summary

Westpac New Zealand Limited is seeking an Information Security Engineer to join the Build and Protect Services squad. You will identify vulnerabilities, assess risk, maintain and enhance cyber security tools, and respond to threats across a complex enterprise landscape.

The role is hands-on, focused on protecting our systems, people and customers daily. You will work with internal teams and vendors to uplift security maturity, contribute to platform upgrades, and deploy new security solutions in

Qualifications

• Experience in a cyber security or information security engineering role.
• Exposure to Windows or Linux operating systems and scripting or coding languages.
• Experience working with vendors and managing multi stakeholder issues.
• Understanding of information security standards such as ISO 27001.
• Experience working with security platforms such as SIEM, PKI infrastructure, or related tooling.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, including cloud security concepts and controls.
• Assist with the operational health, lifecycle management, upgrades and continuous improvement of enterprise cyber security platforms.
• Industry certifications such as Security+, SC-200, SC-300, AZ-500, GSEC, CCNA Security, CISSP, or equivalent are advantageous.
• Experience working in regulated environments such as financial services or government is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Protect Westpac NZ's technology environment and respond to security threats.
• Identify vulnerabilities, assess and manage risk, and enhance cyber security tools.
• Work with internal teams and vendors to uplift security maturity.
• Support deployment of new security solutions and platform upgrades.
• Maintain operational health and lifecycle management of enterprise cyber security platforms.
