Job summary

Westpac New Zealand is seeking an Information Security Engineer to join the Build and Protect Services squad. You will work hands-on to protect systems, people and customers, identify vulnerabilities, manage risk and respond to threats in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

You will tune security tools, support platform upgrades, and collaborate with internal teams and vendors to continuously lift security maturity across on-prem and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in a cyber security or information security engineering role.
• Exposure to security platforms such as SIEM, PKI infrastructure, or related tooling.
• Experience with security tools including AV, EDR, MFA, and DLP.
• Understanding of ISO 27001 and ITIL change, incident, and problem management.

Responsibilities

• Protect Westpac New Zealand's technology environment on a day‑to‑day basis.
• Identify vulnerabilities, assess risk, and respond to security threats.
• Maintain and upgrade cyber security platforms and tooling.
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to uplift security maturity.
• Support platform upgrades and deployment of new security solutions.
