About the Opportunity

Keystone Search has been exclusively appointed by Oomiak, a leading Australian provider of industrial refrigeration solutions, to attract qualified New Zealand-based Refrigeration Technicians/Mechanics interested in relocating to Australia. Opportunities are available in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney, with relocation packages and full support to transition into the Australian market.

With service teams in every capital city, Oomiak is recognised for its strong workplace culture and technical expertise across food processing, beverage, cold storage, logistics, distribution and manufacturing sectors.

Oomiak’s technical capability includes concept development, design, manufacturing, project delivery and maintenance support. Oomiak’s expertise extends to Ammonia based overfeed and low charge DX systems, cascade, trans-critical and heat pump CO2 systems, and secondary refrigerant applications. Oomiak also understand and support commercial synthetic refrigeration systems.

The Role

The Refrigeration Technician will provide high-quality installation, service and maintenance support for a wide range of industrial refrigeration applications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across diverse customer sites
  • Supporting installation and commissioning of new equipment and technologies
  • Working with Ammonia refrigerant systems and other advanced technologies
  • Delivering safe, efficient and customer-focused outcomes as part of a supportive, national service team
  • Opportunity to specialise in either commissioning, installation or service work and the flexibility to meet your personal development and career aspirations
  • Opportunity to gain and grow your experience in project commissioning and installation
  • Opportunities to travel interstate to gain exposure to a wide range of industrial refrigeration plants
Candidate Profile

We are seeking technicians who:

  • Hold a NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (or AU Certificate III/IV equivalent)
  • Have at least 2 years’ relevant experience
  • Ideally bring Ammonia refrigeration system experience (NZ Unit Standard 30127 desirable)
  • Are NZ citizens with a valid passport and open to relocation
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork, safety and customer outcomes
