An electrical services provider based in Invercargill City is seeking a NZ Registered Electrician to perform repairs, conduct preventative maintenance, and lead projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate possesses strong skills in automation and problem-solving with a valid practicing license and a full NZ drivers license. The role offers a dynamic work environment focused on quality and safety.
Follow all company policies and NZ electrical safety regulations, including AS/NZS 3000 Standards.
Understand health & safety responsibilities including hazard identification, Safe Operating Procedures (SOP), Task Operating Procedures (TOP), and reporting.
Use and inspect all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per SOPs and report damage promptly.
Complete relevant SOP and TOP training timely.
Prevent misuse of property and equipment.
Perform electrical repairs and testing to AS/NZS 3000 Standards and NZ regulations with high quality and safety standards.
Record all maintenance and repairs accurately.
Identify additional maintenance opportunities to increase equipment reliability.
Communicate repair priorities with Department Managers.
Provide cost-effective repair or replacement recommendations.
Participate in an on-call alarm duty roster as required, responding promptly to out-of-hours electrical faults or emergencies.
Conduct scheduled preventative electrical maintenance to maintain safe, efficient equipment operation.
Work with Facilities and Equipment Manager to implement and manage maintenance programs.
Lead electrical aspects of capital projects as required.
Participate in weekly maintenance team meetings to set work priorities and collaborate.
Assist broader maintenance team tasks.
Report equipment replacement recommendations promptly.
Current New Zealand Registered Electrician with a valid practicing licence as mandated by the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB).
Proven experience with industrial and commercial electrical maintenance and repairs.
Strong background in automation, controls, PLCs, motor starters, VSDs, and fault-finding.
Full NZ Drivers Licence.
Up-to-date knowledge of AS/NZS electrical standards and NZ electrical safety regulations.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work autonomously or collaboratively.
Attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
Positive, proactive attitude with a team player mindset.
