Job summary

PwC New Zealand seeks a Manager in Indirect Tax to advise clients on GST, customs, excise and related matters, reporting to Directors and Partners. You will build trusted client relationships and lead delivery across projects, with focus on the public sector portfolio.

You will manage complex engagements, coach junior staff, and contribute to proposals and thought leadership, while collaborating with cross-functional and international teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Law or related field.
• 5+ years in a large global chartered firm with indirect tax experience.
• Strong project management and client relationship skills.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Able to work with senior stakeholders and develop others.
• Professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA/ACCA/ICAEW) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality indirect tax advice to clients.
• Lead GST, customs, excise and other indirect tax matters.
• Plan and deliver strategies to manage liabilities and tax positions.
• Manage multiple projects with cross-functional and international teams.
• Coach junior staff and contribute to business development.
