Job summary

Access Community Health in New Zealand seeks an Experienced Support Worker for casual home-based care. You will support clients in their own homes, focusing on safety, respect, and person-centered approaches to daily living and wellbeing.

Role offers flexible hours, weekend shifts with extra pay, and paid training. Prior experience with complex care needs and mobility aids is valued; driver’s license and right to work are required.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification or have equivalent, relevant experience.
• Spinal injury experience
• Stoma Management experience
• Experience with hoists (standing and two-person)
• Experience administering prescribed medication
• Willingness to learn and adapt to what matters for each person
• Experience in caregiving, disability support, aged care, or community work
• Be intuitive and responsive to people’s needs
• Own a smartphone
• Right to work in New Zealand
• Full/restricted driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, respectful, person-centered support in clients’ homes.
• Be mindful of clients’ culture, values, beliefs, routines, and boundaries.
• Support daily living activities and medical needs as required.
