Job description

Summary:
Responsible for managing inventory and purchasing procedures of raw materials and other supplies within a company.

Essential Functions:
  1. Maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements
  2. Responsible for exploring new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery
  3. Establishes procedures and supervises the annual physical inventory
  4. Supervises, evaluates, and coaches staff members
  5. Interfaces with product line coordinators on planning and forecasting customer orders to meet shipments
  6. Maintains relationships and negotiates with suppliers
  7. Purchases supplies and materials according to specifications
  8. Ensures company standards and procedures are followed in all materials department functions
Education

Bachelor's Degree in Materials Engineering required. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? Yes

Licenses and Credentials

Experience: 5-7 years of directly related experience required; 2-3 years in a supervisory role preferred
